OLGA PAINTS THE BEAUTIFUL AMAZONS - (Press release, 2 February 2011).

Olga Jakobsen depicts the amazons with elegant brush strokes on large canvas because they represent strenght and beauty - just like the women of our time.

Artist Olga Jakobsen is inspired by the strong warrior women the amazons, which are not only described in Greek mythology but also by many different sources of antiquity. They travel through time onto the canvas on which she paints.

"Clearly, there is a parallel from the perservering amazons and their tough time to our present-day society with its accelerated pace of life where women have to be just as strong. I wish to give the amazons back their feminine and graceful expression but there is no doubt that my amazons also have strenght and drive", says Olga Jakobsen.
